scaling teeth
Maintenance therapy - scaling a patients' teeth

adam "My teeth were fairly discoloured with visible dark staining appearing through the cracks of my teeth due to excessive tea drinking.

It was quick, easy and painless and lifted all of the stains away. As a result my teeth now look much cleaner but also a degree whiter.

I am more than pleased with the results and would recommend it to anyone!"

Veneers - from £400

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain made to fit over the front surface of a tooth, like a false fingernail fits over a nail. They can cover worn tooth enamel, uneven tooth alignment or spacing and chips or cracks.

They improve the colour, shape and can be used to improve the position of the tooth in your mouth creating a brighter, whiter smile.

Crowns - from £450

A crown is like a jacket that encases a tooth and they can be made in a number of materials dependant on the strength required, and the look wanted. They are suggested when a tooth is broken or a large filling needs replacing. A crown can also be used to improve the appearance of a large discoloured filling. The crown preparation is sent to a laboratory where the skill of the technician is paramount in creating a tooth in one of three materials.

The main choices of materials are:

bullet Porcelain-fused-to-white gold
bullet All-ceramic (all-porcelain)
bullet Gold

Inlays - from £400

Inlays replace fillings within the biting surface of a tooth. These are made in conjunction with a laboratory and your dentist. They are specially made out of porcelain or gold and fit like a jigsaw piece into the shape of the filling.

Bridges - from £450 per unit

Bridges are used to fill the gaps of missing teeth and are only possible if the tooth is strong enough and has good enough bone support. Your mouth is the gateway to your body.

The mouth is a dark, moist environment of a constant warm temperature with a steady supply of carbohydrates - truly ideal bacteria growing conditions. There are from 200 - 300 different species of bacteria in the mouth. There is no other place in or on the male or female body that houses this diversity of bacteria.

Bacteria associated with periodontal diseases can travel into the bloodstream and may result in other adverse health effects. Studies have found that bacteria in the mouth may account for big effects on general health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, stress and low birth weight. There is an ever increasing body of evidence on the mouth- body connection.

Consultation with Periodontist - £190

A complete and in depth medical and dental health history is taken. A thorough examination to measure for bone loss, loose teeth, bite, oral cancer screening, TMJ and other signs of periodontal disease is carried out.

Periodontal x-rays may be taken in order to see disease not otherwise visible. If your referring dentist has taken x-rays, you may request that they be forwarded to our consultant.
